You Made That Up To Scare Me
Denison University’s senior visual arts majors proudly present “YOU MADE THAT UP TO SCARE ME,” an exhibition born from an era of heightened uncertainty, sensationalized headlines, and collective unease. Yet, this exhibition is not about those fears themselves but about what we choose to create in spite of them.
A wide variety of work will be exhibited, including paintings, prints, illustrations, sculpture, and digital media. The topics address diverse themes, such as personal experience, home, the environment, fictional universes, and more. The work in this exhibition also pauses to notice, taking seemingly small moments, overlooked ideas, or fleeting anxieties and making them large — demanding attention, exaggerating, and transforming. In doing so, these works respond to one another with a sense of urgency and play, as if conversing, you made that up to scare me.

These Realities We Create
"These Realities We Create” is an exhibition I curated from December 2024-Februrary 2025. The goal of the exhibition was to highlight the intersections of world-building and storytelling with the arts, and give student artists a chance to show off their work in this context.
The show opened on February 20th and ran until February 27th.
